These walking holidays are easier than our Classic Walking programme. There is an excellent
range of walks running alongside our Classic Walking programme, to enable
you to get close to your chosen areas - history, pub lunches,
sightseeing, the landscape or visiting hidden villages.
Options include Walks of Discovery, Easier Walks, Pub
Walks, Easier Half-Day Walks, Walks with Views of the
Peaks and Rover Tours to name
a few.
On these holidays there is one leader and one walk in the
day. The pace of the walks is relaxed, with one
day free for independent activity on seven-night holidays.

Enjoy half-day walks in the
morning, returning to the comfort
of your Country House for the
afternoon. This is an ideal holiday for those
who prefer relaxing in the afternoon, or who
would like more time to explore
independently. 3 to 4 miles with some
ascent. A similar option is available as part of the Classic Walking programme at Alnmouth and Bourton-on-the-Water. Walks and visits may include: |

day and, after an earlier evening meal, enjoy
theatre visits in the evening. We'll see two
performances at Keswick's Theatre by the
Lake, joining a theatre appreciation holiday.
The two plays are different in character, one
occasionally with challenging content. |

follow a selection of beautiful coastal and
valley paths; perhaps on the Isle of Lismore;
Loch Lochy; Glen Coe; and part of the West

Our popular Alpine Rambles holidays offer shorter walks
against a stunning backdrop of some of Europe's most
beautiful mountains; the perfect recipe for a relaxing holiday. Walking
at a leisurely pace allows plenty of time to enjoy the colourful
displays of wild flowers, while frequent stops allow us to soak up the
panoramic views and take in the local sights. 4 to 6½ miles with
some ascent. Walks and visits may include: |
Adelboden, Switzerland: Engstligen waterfalls; Kandersteg and the
Oeschinensee lake; and the Höreli alpine garden.
Kranjska Gora, Slovenia: walks in the Planica Valley; the beautiful shores of
Lake Bohinj; and the waterfalls of the Vintgar Gorge.
Lake Wolfgang, Austria: lakeside paths to St Wolfgang; a walk in the high
Postalm meadows; and the beautiful Fuschlsee.
Les Contamines, France: the meadows of the Col du Joy; a walk beside the
Bossons Glacier; and the Mont Blanc tramway.
Mayrhofen, Austria: the Upper Ziller Valley; Finkenberg Gorge and Tux Valley;
and the beautiful high meadows of the Penken.
Selva, Italy: along the Val Gardena to Ortisei; dramatic Dolomite scenery to the
